Edlund tongs last a lifetime. I have some that were my Father in law's that are at least 40 years old and they are still the best. They have a great grip and feel like an extension of your hand. I also have a newer one (about) 5 years old. These are the only stainless tongs I would buy.
Found these tongs to when looking for a new set for the grill. Very heavy duty and well made! Thrilled to find kitchenware made in the USA. Work very well for the purpose and clean up beautifully. Giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because when locked closed, they still have a gap of 2" between them. This may be a feature, not a bug, as it allows you to manipulate many foods with the tongs locked, which minimizes any strain on your hand and wrist. But the larger gap practically guarantees the tongs will interfere with other utensils when storing in a drawer or cabinet slot. Not a huge deal, I solved the problem with a strong rubber band to hold them completely closed for storage. Would definitely purchase again, and am planning to get the 12" set for everyday kitchen use.
I really like thes. It?s nice that you can have two different settings as far as how open the jaws are set. It?s also nice that ist is made in the US and the spring cacn berpalced if broken. Only thing i would change is to make the lock mechanism on the back longer but that is minor comared to how nicely these work
It's hard finding products not made in China so I was thrilled to find these steel tongs. Was originally looking for scissor tongs but the only ones are made in China. These worked great!
Best quality tongs and AMERICAN made! I have owned two sets of these tongs for years. Just bought two more. One for my son and one for second home! They look and feel exactly like my old tongs!
For the price I expected better quality. I was looking for a 12" set that would match the quality of an older set I have. For the price I expected much more. Not a lot better than those at my local chain store for 1/2 the price.
These tongs were a disappointment to me and I'm still not convinced there are defective. I didn't like them and my husband asked if he could try them for grilling. HE, unlike I, likes them very much. He says he doesn't have to unlock and lock them all the time because they stay open just enough for him to grab a steak.
As for me--They were a pain to unlock and lock. I wouldn't buy them again. I got them for using for gumbo in a large stock pot.
Got tired of my old cheap tongs. Bougth the 9" and 12" tongs, quality materials, made in the USA and locks are easy to use! Sorry I did not buy a second set of these for gifts. My husband keeps using the house 12" tongs for grilling and loves them!! Nice weight and tips of tongs actually align correctly, now we have professional kitchen tongs in our house.
Awesome tongs. Feel very sturdy in your hand due to shorter length and thicker steel construction. So far so good for everything in the kitchen you might need tongs for. Highly recommend.
Best tongs you can get anywhere. I like them so much that I’ve gifted the 9” and 12” ones for many of my friends. Especially after seeing the terrible gripping ones they own. Plus they’re made in good old US of A!
Very handy for a number of kitchen tasks--more versatile than anticipated. Easy to adjust grip for delicate (lettuce, flaky fish) vs. heavier-duty food items (large steaks). The lock is easy to operate. Should outlast me. I'm here to buy more because I find myself wanting to use them for many kitchen jobs.
Tongs are the kitchen tool I use most. These are the best of all because they work well, are easy to clean and most importantly they stay closed when locked.

These tongs are exactly what I was looking for. They are the best, they are light, day to use and well built. Highly recommend. I now have three and when my two oldest tongs give up the ghost, they will be replaced by two more Edlund tongs.
We have used the Edlund regular sized tongs in our cooking...a staple for us. We finally decided to get the longer ones for the grill...they are great. Will have these forever.

My favorite tongs. similar to restaurant heavy duty tongs but with the added lock feature that is not intrusive. I do not like the large lock levers that stick out. I could not have designed it better
My fancy pants All-Clad tongs sit untouched next to these. I use my Edlund tongs every day. Don't waste money and time on other tongs. These are the ones you want. They'll last a lifetime too.
